The scope would be on a Tikka 7mm 08, I hunt in Washington so the conditions could be rain forest or mountains.

I would mount the Burris FF2 on that Tikka. I have one on a Tikka 270 and it works just fine.

Why go with the plex reticle when they make a ballistic plex? I wouldn’t waste my money on the standard duplex reticle. There is no benefit by going with a standard plex reticle. About as worthless/useable as the gloss redfield I bought today for $29. You damn sure aren’t going to be dialing that burris
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

I am a huge fan of the Long Range MOA Reticle myself, adaptable to just about any cartridge and takes a minimal amount of seat time to get the ballistic information you need for your rifle and ammo combination.

Great post. I often wonder how many guys actually do what you just described. It’s not hard to do, like you said. One range trip and you have all the info you need. The FFII’s strong point is not in dialing, but it holds zero like nobody’s business. It’s up to the op, but a plain Jane reticle is worthless unless you are only shooting to about 150 yards. My 30-30 is good for about that far, so I use a Leupold on it.

![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/EyCYsCul.jpg) This is my t3x 7mm-08 with an older Burris FF e1 3-9x40 illuminated dot. Reticles are a little different style than the FF 2 but essentially the same scope with a dot. Does fantastic on deer, would do the same on a lot of other big game as well.

When I get home I’ll post up some pics of a properly set up Tikka 7mm08, and how it performs with the ballistic plex reticle.

Thanks for the replies where can I get a Burris 2 Natchez Shooters Supply is your best bet Natchez was good for Burris scopes but since Burris discontinued the FF2 a few months back they are out of stock. Amazon has the 3-9 on sale for $130 and I just grabbed 2 more to add to the stockpile. Think I have 8 or 9 of them stashed away now.
