I’ve got my dads 10 year old yellow lab that is having issues. Vet can’t find anything wrong, but has prescribed numerous pills that I don’t think are working.

Was looking into cbd oil as an alternative. Has anyone used this and and what results have you noticed.

Thanks,
Nash

You don’t mention what the issues are. For a Lab, just being 10 is a pretty big issue in itself. I think I’d sooner listen to my vet than to a stoner. 😳 Either way, good luck with your dog. It’s sad to see them decline. Our Belle just turned 12. I’ll still toss her a single 20ft retrieve when I’m working the pup. I think she appreciates it.

Well, pretty sure that he has some arthritis in his hips, plus he’s not wanting to eat much. All the vet tests found nothing wrong. Going to another vet in the morning for a second opinion. I know there have been studies that show for certain ailments the oil does help. Just thought I would check to see if anyone had tried it.

Just like human drs, sometimes a second opinion is worth it.

I've used it on several dogs with mixed results. The trick is to be consistent with feeding it.
It might take a couple weeks before you see any results if there are going to be any But what the hell, it can't hurt to try.

I could wish a lot of things on my worst enemy but neuropathy ain't one of them.

A couple years back there was an article in POINTING DOG JOURNAL re CBD. If I remember correctly, the article basically said use with caution.

The issue is that the strength of the active ingredient in it can vary widely and that labeling is often times not accurate re strength ... and prolonged high doses is very hard on their liver.

Thanks, haven’t tried any yet. He goes in Thursday for an ultrasound on his stomach to see what’s happening there.
