I inherited one and I'm not familiar with them.
2AA battery power looks good to me.
It seems nice enough but I know nothing about them.
Opinions and info would help, thanks!

They're decent optics, well liked by the GWOT crowd, but I find the rectical a little busy.

I have a 512 that I bought several years ago and I like it. I just installed a GG&G quick release lever on it.

I used to have a 512, I believe that was the model. I used it on an AR-9 for a number of years and liked the reticle. However, over time the reticle began to fade due to some sort of electrical issue. Eotech had a recall program because this was a common issue and I used it get a refund. I liked the sight but it wasn't reliable enough for me. I think the XPS series is better regarding this issue but they cost more.

Thanks J! I'm not up to speed on appropriate acronyms... It looks to be a good sight for close quarters to medium distance. I've got the sight so maybe I need another rifle to go with it

I've got a 552.A65 I bought 15 years ago or so. Runs fine. The newer ones have some design improvements, so they are shorter.

Don’t leave the batteries in it too long! Ask me how I know.

I personally prefer aimpoint over Eotechs.

Friend had to have the Eo ring of death. I suggested AP, for a bunch of good reasons.
Another friend was a dealer, so I was able to get him one. Few months later we went to the range. His Eo batteries were already dead.
Having or requiring a kill switch is a deal-breaker. Unless it's going on a range toy.
And I can't get them bright enough for all conditions. Ring tends to wash out in bright.
