Anyone ever swc's in your 9mm? I would like some feedback on any problems or they function ok? I normally get my bullets at Missouri Bullet and they offer coated swc's in 9mm. I use swc's in the other calibers in my other pistols but haven't ever tried them in the 9mm. They come in boxes of 500 ct and don't want to purchase that many if they don't feed correctly. Thanks

Yes. I use the Lyman 358480 quite often. It throws a bullet that weighs roughly 130gr cast of wheel weights. I size them .358 and fill both of the small lube grooves. Had to fiddle with seating depth a little to get them to feed but once I got it figured they function well.

I've not tried them in 9mm either. Just RN and some Sierra 115 gr. JHP. I have used TC cast in .45 acp though.

I've used the RCBS 150 gr "Keith" bullet without problem. It does eat into the powder capacity a bit.

MBC Small ball. No issues unlike as pointed out SWC have feed issues at times.

I don't think they will work in every gun, but I've had good results with a 140 grain H&G design .38 Special SWC. It will feed perfectly in a Beretta. Can't recall if I tried it in my Sig but the Sig will generally shoot everything the Beretta will without problem.

I've shot 100's if not well over 1000 of the little Lee 105 gr swc's. They shot great out of my Ruger P-95. Haven't had an opportunity to try them out of the glocks yet.

Shot a lot of RCBS 150-KT in my Ruger P85. Wouldn’t feed reliably in a Taurus 92 but did in my Beretta92???
I’m going to try them in my Max9 but haven’t yet.
I’d say ask for a sample lot to try first.

First of all, MBC sells a sample pack. Second, I've never had an issue with swc in 9mm. The last few years I've tended to shoot grooveless hytek-coated 125gr round nose from Brazos.

I used to have a 126gr.? mould for 9mm/.38 Super, it was a miniature version of the H&G #68 that was famous for excellent feeding in .45s. I liked the mould, (NEI), but honestly, I couldn't get the accuracy I was after with it.

I had zero issues with feeding, once I got the seating depth right (put the shoulder about a thumbnail's width over the case neck, just like with the .45 bullet). I really wish that bullet had shot a bit better, but I was also using a LEE RN mould that gave better accuracy (356-125 2R).

I do NOT like MBC's Small Ball bullets, they have to be seated very, very deep in the cases to fit my Springfield chambers, though it looks an awful lot like the LEE bulet I mentioned earlier, there' something different about it, and it causes me a lot of grief.
I'd try one of MBC's sample packs, just to see if they work in your pistol, and see if they're better than the batch I had. I know the Springfields have shorter chambers than normal (the MBCs work fine in other 9mm pistols I own), but I wasn't thrilled with their accuracy, either.

I don't cast any more, I just buy Berry's or Hornady HAP bullets and call it good.

It depends on your gun. I have shot large quantities of 9mm 150 gr coated SWC through both my M-92F Beretta and my WW II German P-38 with no issues at all. However, I gave a box to a young fellow that worked at my local shooting range for his new SCCY pistol and he reported some feeding issues.

Did you ever end up trying these bullets?

I just purchased my first 9mm handgun and I ordered some of the bullets to try. If they don't feed/function I'll probably post them here or on snipershide classifieds.

I've had good luck using the .358 125 gr TCFP cowboy bullets in 9mm.
