Because you can’t buy a SWFA scope. They are back ordered into perpetuity.

Minox 62 mm spotter is tempting at 1/2 price. But you still have to find an eyepiece.

There’s a LOT of other hunting, shooting, AR, and other stuff….IF you’re willing to look/search for it. I found Leupold alumina covers, tenebraex stuff, aimpoint stuff, Glock stuff, and AR stuff I needed…..much cheaper. FWIW

I have to wonder if this means they are going out of business. I do not find any rifle scopes on the website at all, except the Super Chickens, and they are all out of stock.

I saw that Minos spotter was the last one in stock and pulled the trigger on it.

Now to find an eyepiece. Hoping Doug can help me out. I wonder if there is any cross compatibility?

As today is a holiday, maybe I will hear back from Cameraland tomorrow.

Before the 50% off sale, it was 30%. It seems like much of the optics inventory was already sold before it went to 50%.

SWFA is supposedly going to focus on their own line of products so it's not too surprising that they are blowing out product that they will not be selling in the future.

Looks like they are focusing on taking orders for products not in stock. The April 2028 cargo ship delivery is in the early planning phase

I'm betting they'll be out of business sooner rather than later.

If those are 99% off and come with free shipping and a free hat, I might be interested.

I saw on another forum you quoted someone citing a rumor that SWFA lost its FFL: https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/8860522/swfa-50-off

FWIW, which likely isn't much, ATF still shows SWFA on their May 2023 list of FFL holders, which anybody can download here: https://www.atf.gov/firearms/listing-federal-firearms-licensees

They've been going backwards for a couple of years now at least. That's not a good sign.

According to a post on LRH, this is correct. SWFA has decided to get out of retail and focus on their optic lineup. SWFA is wildly popular as a value brand of optics, and for good reason. They’re reliable and robust as hell! But they’re due for an overhaul, so I’m betting SWFA is switching business models while they re-vamp the lineup. Time will tell…

Edit: whadya know… SWFA thread

If ya go to SFWA-SS.com ya might see a different approach & inventory listing. A new 2023 website.

A limited inventory but a fer new things. It doesn't seem to be complete or finished, but have to wonder if it's the new business model.

Called Wendy at SWFA today. My CC was hit a few days ago but haven't seen any shipping notice yet and my item still shows BO. She said they got in a large shipment and they are working on getting everything shipped out and as soon as the items ship an email will go out with tracking info.

Prefer the 20-70 eyepiece but haven’t seen a price that low since Cabela’s was closing out their euro instinct version.

Got my 6x SS today. Should have ordered 2 at 50%off just to have it around.

Wow, didn’t see that.
I just checked again though and I couldn’t pass up the Zeiss V4 4 - 16 for 500 bucks.

Best I saw on their fixed power scopes was 30%. $300 scopes were $210.
