The usual, 4 gallon jugs filled with water in front of my 100 yard berm. Me sitting at the bench. Load is 29.5 grains of BLC2 in Hornady Grendel cases popped by a Tuleammo primer. Estimated velocity is 2350fps. First jug big hole, second jug flattened, third jug flattened and fell off plank open side down pouring what was left of the bullet out on the ground, fourth jug untouched. relatively large fragments and jacket material, certainly not the complete bullets worth. Accuracy from my 20 inch upper is excellent. Will be sailing a few of these toward the usual summer suspects, feral hogs at night and coyotes in the daytime. Why? Because I can.

I notice they gave the same penetration as the Speer 168 gr. BTHP though the 308 was a bit more destructive. First jug with the 308 was split asunder.

Try a 90 grain TNT or a 90 gr Varmaggeddon, running 600 to 700 fps MV faster....

100 grain Ballistic Tip or 100 grain Sierra HP or 100 gr SP Hornady....they do well and will certainly drop a blacktail shot on the right placement.

Interesting testing different bullets and seeing results.

Good results. I’ve been killing hogs with the 123 hpbt match from midsouth. They do great on hogs from my Grendel.

Speed kills.

For terminal performance on game, I choose lighter and faster over slower and heavier (in general).

I always wondered why some companies choose slower twist rates, like Sako. Do they prefer lighter/faster over slower/heavier??? Hmmm. 🤔

A bullet that breaks up tends to destroy tissue in a wider area. That has a way of causing things to die.
