They were definitely Cheddites. I have no idea who manufactured them.

I had very poor results with them and would caution their use on live game.

Are we talking the older purple hull Cheddites or the newer one I've not tried? The older purple ones with 1 oz of 8s needed one choke tighter in my gun for backyard clay shooting compared to my reloads with the same hull and 7/8 oz of 8s. This was mostly on the ones I purposely let get out aways before shooting.

At one time the local Cabelas had a shell sale before bird season. I picked up a flat of the 1 1/8 oz loads of # 5's in 16 ga. Haven't made a real dent in that flat yet but have worked so far on sharptails and pheasants. They are not real clean burning and don't seem to pattern as well but most of my guns are overchoked so that works out..mb

If they still make the heavy field 1 1/8 oz at 1280 fps 7.5s, they are awesome on quail and phesant over pointing dogs.
