Winter Weather Advisory
Copper River Basin, AK
...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO NOON AKDT WEDNESDAY... * WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations 2 to 4 inches. * WHERE...Copper River Basin. Heaviest amounts from Glennallen to the north and northeast. * WHEN...From midnight tonight to noon AKDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...An unseasonably late snowfall is expected in the Copper River Basin tonight into Wednesday morning. The current expectation is for 2 to 4 inches of snow from Glennallen north and northeast along the Richardson highway and Tok cutoff. Amounts up to 2 inches west of Glennallen along the Glen Highway and south of Glennallen along the Richardson Highway. Due to the temperatures being just cold enough for snow, snow accumulations could be either more than expected or stay mostly rain in some parts of the Copper River Basin.

ALASKA is a "HARD COUNTRY for OLDMEN". (But if you live it wide'ass open, balls'to the wall, the pedal floored, full throttle, it is a delightful place, to finally just sit-back and savor those memories while sipping Tequila).

Be hard pressed to get a wildfire going I think.

Man, I used to live in Paxson. Would have been fun to see. We had 3" of snow out at crosswinds on a weekend one year when I was there working a smolt trap. It was in June or July

Rode a 214 yesterday in rain/snow,to circumvent bridges being over run with melt/ice flow. The ambient was modest and ceiling low, which arranged a car jack and high speed chase to a proper 737 on tarmac. Hint.(grin)

Then mechanical this AM with AK Airlines and "only" a modest shuffle to final destination Caravans,to the front porch. Hint.

Steelhead in the morning. Hint...........
