This is a Savage 99F in .300 savage. The rifle came with the scope as seen. I'd like info on the 99F and the scope if possible. The 99F has the safety on the lever, and has the brass round counter (it works). The 99F serial number is 781XXX.

I cannot find a maker on the scope, but it appears to be a 3x or 4x.

Made in 1956. I say that is a Weaver K2.5 or K3; stamp would be under the front scope ring. Great model and caliber combo for deer hunting.

Thank you!! It seems like a time capsule. What does the F mean? Feather weight? Would the scope be from the time ie the 1950's?

I got it for my Dad years ago as he had always wanted one. He has taken one buck and one hog with it so far. I'm going to see if he'll let me give it a try this season.

Yes, "F" stands for featherweight.

I don't think that is a 1950s scope, more like 70s.

Thought the copper adjustments were on earlier scopes.. but don't ask me where I got that from.

I agree with Keith. The caps are post bullseye so could be late 60's and up.

I’ve got a Weaver K4W that I bought used in 1977. Adjustments look the same but I don’t know when mine was made.
