My youngest son Matt has been putting handles on knives for the past few years. He is currently 14 and will start high school in the fall. He is mowing yards and power washing driveways with his brother.

He is basically doing anything he can to stay busy and make some extra money. I stopped by TX knifemakers supply earlier in the week and bought him 5 blanks. I'm sure he will get them put together in the next couple of weeks and try to make a few dollars on them while getting better at the process.

Anyway, I wanted to brag on him a little and put up a few pics of the stuff he has finished.

Thanks
Dave

This one he carries. He refers to it as his LSU knife.

He started making kydex sheaths also.

Nice work, Matt! I like those handles.

Would Matt be able to make a few Kydex sheaths for me? I need sheaths for a Mora 711, and three Mora Companion Heavy Duty.

They are nicely done when you see them in person!

Dave, when he finishes this next round I’ll buy one. Need to have him make a kydex sheath one i have as well.

When is he going to build him a forge? 👍

Those sheaths look great, Matt. My kids and I are looking forward to using them.

Have you worked with the Spyderco Mule Team project knives?

Shout out to Matt!

Sheaths arrived yesterday. Thanks for taking on the job, Matt!

He didn't have a Mora so I sent one via Amazon. He got the four sheaths done quick with good communication. The price was reasonable and it was a pleasure to support Matt's endeavor.

My kids and I wanted something different than the factory plastic sheath that Moras come with. Less bulk and length.

I am currently working on five caper’s and would like some input
What handles would you guys like to see on each of them?

Wow that Desert Ironwood is really cool!
The knife is still in the works. It has Bolivian rosewood handles.
I will post some pictures when I’m done.

Hey Matt

I like the look of that bottom strip pictured. Finish a caper with that and I'll take one.

Hey Lslite
The capers I’m think will start at between 75 and 100 just depending by on handle material or “custom features”
Thanks, Matt
