I've had the best luck in the 260 with IMR 3031. Not real great luck in the 270 with any thing I've tried. These include IMR 3031, H4831SC, and Win 760. I'm thinking of IMR 4831, Varget, and H1000 next. Any suggestions? The 270 is a Rem 7600 pump, and the 260 is a Ruger M77 MKII Stainless/syn.
Dave

The best load I ever put together for my .270 was 55 gr. of IMR 4350, 130 gr. Balistic tips and CCI primers in Winchester cases.

Reloder 22 does it for my .300 WinMag, .270, and .30-06 (compressed loads).
I'd say it's my favorite because it the favorite of some very utile rifles that I own.
Rick

Accurate Arms 3100 works better in my 270 than either IMR 4350 or 4831.

I have used IMR4350 pretty well all the time with the 270 and get tight groups in my Browning BBR, I found the 4831 powders not too bad either, I believe Jack O'connor used 60gr H4831 and a 130gr bullet but that would be a maximum load so may not be safe in your rifle. Haven't worked with any of the Accurate or Reloader powders yet.

I'm not much on the 260 Rem, but in the 270 Win Rel 22 has my attention.

Another vote here for RL-22 in the 270. Nothing else even comes close.
I have no experience with the 260.

My .260 Rem is also a Ruger M77 MkII, though it's not a stainless.
For the light varmint bullets, Hogdon's Benchmark has the nod (excellent velocity and groups @ 200 yds). AA 4350, RL 15 and VV N-150 also gave good results.
For the heavier bullets, RL 19 has been the go to powder. I'll be tinkering with VV N-560 for my 120gr-140 gr bullets in the off season, so we'll see how it goes.
No experience with the .270.
TXLoader

In my mountain rifle weight .270 built on a Commercial FN action, 58 grains of H4831SC is a max load and puts my 130 Hornadies at 3/4" or under. Seating depth can be critical with this rifle. It also loves the Nosler paritions, but I shoot more Hornadies than anything.
Expecting MOA accuracy from a pump might be a little much to ask for, IMHO. - Sheister

My powder of choice for both the 260 and the 270 is Reloader #19.Accuracy is excellent in both calibers.IMR 4350 is also a good choice in the 270.I have got a little better velocity with Reloader 22,but the accuracy is better with Reloader 19.My 260 is a Ruger 77 and my 270,s are a Ruger 77 and a Ruger #1.

Got this .270 load straight from Jack O'Connor:
49.5 grains of IMR 4064, with any decent 130 grain bullet, in any good .270 rifle. He gave it as his accuracy load, and it sure as heck is.
It has worked for me in three different .270s with Partitions, Ballistic Tips, a Sierra, and a Hornady. It isn't the hottest load--I think he gave its velocity at around 2850 fps--but with the accuracy I've gotten from it, it doesn't have to be hot.
Try it. You'll love it.

Straight from Jack O'Connor's book, I should've said. Justin
