Thanks' Boarmaster123. The Freedom is aesthetically pleasing like the Vx-3. Love #4 reticles. For whatever reason losing the useless upper half of the vertical post settles me on target faster.

To clarify an earlier statement on brightness, Dad was shocked at being able to see deer at dusk through my Weaver K6 when his older VX-III ( pretty sure it was a iii) couldn't do it for him. I find my VX-3 brighter than the fixed K. I field tested theVX-3 side by side to a 6x42 Leupold M8 and felt it edged it as well. More recently I tested a newer Burris side by side to the VX3 and found it every bit as bright and not sure which view I might prefer.
