Kokanee generally don't get this big. So I am not mad about catching this one at all! No I didn't catch it in the stream behind me. I caught it in the lake right in front of me where the stream feeds into the lake. Beautiful place!

Colorado P&W net spawning Kokanees and give them away by the 5-gallon bucket load.

It is quite a sight to see the red males swimming upstream to spawn in the Blue and Snake Rivers in Summit County and in the Dolores River in Montezuma County. I've never seen one as large, or at least as thick, as the one that you're holding.
