Has anyone seen any new LH Remington 700’s for sale?
If so where?
If you have handled a new one, what was your impression?
Thanks.

I haven’t seen any yet, are they allegedly making them again?
Will Munny: It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.
The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.
Will Munny: We all got it coming, kid.

I talked to a Rem rep a few months ago and they said that they wanted to start making the lefties again at the end of this year, mid summer next year at the latest.

FYI - As a side note, I was glad to see at the beginning of the year that Bergara had listed 6 LH models for their B-14 Timber which has a 700 clone action. As an LH shooter it's always nice when additional options become available to choose from: https://www.bergara.online/us/rifles/b14/timber-rifle/Then I waited for them to appear... Finally I emailed Bergara five weeks ago & their rep replied "They have recently started shipping out so you should see them soon."I'm still waiting for one to appear. All I ever see is the B-14 HMR.

Are the Bergaras all one action length?

Are the Bergaras all one action length? Based on a cursory Google search, B-14's come in short & long action. For items like Picatinny rails you have to specify which one you need. On another vendor's site, I came across this item: Bergara B14 SA (short action) is a bolt action rifle, which is based on the famous Remington 700 action. B14 is available in both, short and long action length. Bolt is designed with two locking lugs, while action is of push feed style. Rifle's trigger is basically the same as that of Remington and it has weight and pull adjustments. But I've never actually measured one myself so I'm only going by what I've seen printed.

A couple of years ago, Browning did a run of LH BAR's so I ordered a 308 to use for hog hunting and quick follow up shots. Then I waited & waited & waited as the arrival date kept getting kicked down the road. Finally over a year later I went with a different option. When Beretta announced the ambidextrous straight-pull BRX1 in 2021, I was intrigued. Still haven't seen one on this side of the Atlantic & the last time I looked they still seem to be stuck at the initial offering of three different .30 caliber options (308, 30-06 & 300WM). Sako just announced the new 90 model a few months back but only the lightweight carbon Peak model is indicated that it will be available in LH and none of those model numbers are actually listed on the web site. Similar scenario with the Bergara Timberline mentioned above. And the list goes on... My initial reaction to a rumor or an announcement of the availability of LH models is to be optimistic but to temper my enthusiasm. Sometimes I get the impression that our small niche of the rifle world may not be a top priority. For LH shooters, patience isn't just a virtue, it's a necessity.

We had a manager from Ruger in our club years ago. He shot 2 left handed Remington 1100s, in 12 and 20 gauge. He worked with Bill Ruger. Bill Ruger was left handed. Skip used to say no manufacturer ever made money off left handed long guns and Bill Ruger refused to offer them. I am not sure when the 77 was offered as a left handed version but I’m pretty sure it was after he died.
For years on Remington’s website when you clicked on left handed models the picture was of a lefty shooting a right handed rifle. Seems that bow makers, golf club manufacturers and fishing reels don’t have the issues we face with firearms. The good news is we save money because almost every time a new firearm or cartridge is unveiled we have to wait for models for us. If they come at all.
If you think about it we are right back to where we were in the 60s. Savage and Weatherby offer left handed versions. Winchester only offers the Super X 4 (back then the 1400 12 gauge, plain barrel modified choke) and Remington, nothing yet.

Although not priced for everyone, Blaser offers everything they make in true LH configurations. Bolt guns, stalking rifles and shotguns.
