A friend brought over a MK 1919 XN for me to sight in with slugs. Some friend. Anyway fired three shots and it hits way high, no vertical adjustment in rear or front sight. For a semi auto I thought it was a bit buckish. Just for grins I ordered a GF25 which is also a AR styled 12 gauge semi auto. pretty cheap. This one has good reviews also. I think I will putt a shotgun scope on it and see what it will do with slugs. ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/0jsfMPwT/Screenshot-2023-09-20-at-12-43-05-GForce-Arms-GF25-AR-Style-Shotgun-Semi-automatic-12-Gauge-18-5-Bar.png)

Not an AR, but last week a guy at the range let me shoot a couple of slugs out of an AK 12 gauge, maker forgotten. Recoil was more of a shuffle than a kick, very comfortable. He had it loaded up with an optic, and some shroudy stuff, but the base model was only about $300. Accuracy was typical for a smoothbore. I would certainly consider one like it for defensive use or a truck gun.
Actually, that's the first AK of any sort I’ve fired, and I found the controls pretty intuitive, maybe because I’ve seen so many on YouTube.
What fresh Hell is this?

Okay it arrived today. used the standard flip up sights to sight in with some old Federal 1 ounce slugs I had laying around. Took five shots. Mounted a Konus shotgun scope on it using some AR bases and got it sighted in perfectly 2 inches at 50 yards. Last three shots were touching. Final group was with some new Winchester 1 oz. slugs. I did shoot some high brass pheasant loads between each 5 shots to keep the barrel from building up lead and it worked. Ok it is around 8.5 pounds with the scope mounted, near 9 with a full magazine. It fed, functioned and went off right from the start, so far no failures. Recoil surprisingly easy to manage. The only thing that annoys me is I can't get the choke tube out which is a cylinder tube. This is OK for now as I intend to use it for hunting on a couple WMA's that only allow rifled slugs and I can't think of a single other animal I couldn't hunt just as easily with one of my other shotguns. So it scores pretty good on function and accuracy with a bonus of unusually light for slug ammo recoil. It handles pretty much like an AR. In all I put some 30 slugs through it, 2 rounds of buckshot and 10 1 1/4 ounce pheasant loads and no dent in my shoulder or neck pain.

Shot it again to make sure it was still zeroed. 4 shots into l 1 1/2 inches at 50 yards. Never have I had a smoothbore shoot slugs so well.
