It's a wireless hotspot that uses ATT for the internet connection. You get a 3 month trial with 3 GB of data when you purchase a new Ford F 150. Then you pay $20 plus fees, etc. per month for a subscription to use it. I let mine expire on my 2023 F150.

Couldn't understand ever needing that if you have a phone with a data plan. I work on the road a lot and have never needed a vehicle data plan.

A hotspot lets you connect a computer that doesn't have wifi or data available. Some phones have hotspot capability but the cost varies. The F150 is good only if you use the computer in the pickup. A phone or portable hotspot can be used anywhere there's cell service.

Never activated the hotspot on my 2022 ford. Phone is already ATT and acts as its own hotspot and phone service in Wyoming is spotty at best, so not much benefit here.
