To paraphrase the words of dead Jonnie Cochran of OJ fame, if it don’t fit, you can’t hit.

Nice when a gun shoots where you are looking

I may not be smart but I can lift heavy objects

I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....

It doesn’t matter

I’ve never once patterned a load or a choke, counted hits on a 30” circle, or chrono’d a shot shell load

I’ve won National Championships, World Cup Events, and on and on

Put a choke in your gun for the range of the target and go shoot.
Im just wondering why you patterned this one?
Not being a smart ass just curious.
I have a gun that fits me pretty well. I use its measurements to adjust a new gun.
Have a friend who can’t stand the thought of cutting a stock to make it fit. Doesn’t want to ruin the resale. I figur shotguns that dont fit are useless

The gun was mounted and shot at the hole in the board to check POI. It wasn’t “patterned” to see pattern size or pellets counted in a certain size area

POI is determined by stock dimensions; cast on or off, drop.

Each photo has more than one shot

The first photo shows the gun shooting left. The stock needed more cast off ( right handed)

Second photo is after adding a bit more cast

The gun now shoots where I look, or is “sighted in”

Shooting a shotgun that doesn’t fit or shoot where you look is akin to shooting a rifle that’s not zeroed and expecting to hit your target

Rcamuglia is right on with his posts and photos! And I've had a few where POI was way off POA...sometimes on one of two barrels of an O/U (Beretta Ultralight), SxS (left barrel of an AYA) and one Winchester Model 12 that shot left and low (out of 8 I've owned).

Had a Citori 625 modified and fit by The Country Gentleman. Met him up at Bull Run in his mobile shop.
Definitely shot better after, and best scores I shot with any of the 4 Citoris I’d owned. Switched to a Zoli that was the best feeling gun I’d ever owned til last year at the homestead shooting a loaner 692. Heading back there in 2 weeks to shoot and think I’ll leave my benelli at home so I can borrow that 692 again.

while RC is technically correct a lot of people use the terms interchangeable and most people understand what they're talking about..

20 yards.

That’s the distance stockfitters use.

Look at the target (hole in the board)

Mount the gun from low ready to the hole

Do not adjust your mount, shoot the hole asap

Repeat

A pattern will form and show where the gun is shooting with a consistent mount.

Adjustments to the stock made from there
