Those 454's look like a real hammer. Do you know if it will cycle 45 Colt ammo?
I have cycled some of Buffalo Bore's 45 Colt, 300 copper flat points, 325 LFN hard cast, and Grizzly's 335 grain WLNGC through a couple of these rifles without issue.
I agree about the ugly recoil pad and the squared off stock ventures. The also agree, at some point of looking and handling the one I have, I have either become accustomed to the look or ignore it. After having a few finicky feeding revolver cartridge lever guns, this Rossi has impressed me. I have only test fired mine for function, so cannot speak to its grouping ability or favorite bullet.
I has one in 480 but sold it without ever shooting it. I sold my bfr 475 linebaugh about the same time and got rid of my brass and bullets. Now that I'm casting again I wish I still had it. It would be great for cast bullets. I think the 454 is more practical because of the 45lc compatability.
I agree with the 454 on maximum practicality. Though I carry a 480 Ruger or 475 Linebaugh fairly frequently, so the 480 carbine would get frequent use.
Hopefully in the future they will make another run of those 480s.

Yep. Mine functioned with pretty much everything. Wish I hadn’t traded it off. I’ll get another one of these days.

I also cycled Grizzly & Buffalo Bore 360 grain hard-cast and Hornady's 300 XPT Mag 454's through it without issue. So far, no issue with what I have on hand.
I am hoping to pick up a 16" stainless 45 Colt in a few days. I have been pleasantly surprised with this generation of Rossi levers.
