Anyone thinking of running the new 62gn ELD-VT in a fast twist heavy 26" .222? Should be able to hit 3000fps with H4895.

Hornady said they won't fit in the magazine of a 223 Remington. It would be single shot only. Not sure how it will be in the 222 Remington, but I am guessing the same.

I shoot all my varmint bullets as a single shot situation anyway....

What the heck is 4DOF? They invent a new term, for everything Hornady does it seems in today's world...

All I know is Hornady keeps coming up with solutions to something that isn't a problem until they point it out as so, and then they conveniently have a solution for a problem that ONLY THEY identify... at a greatly increased price...

and they use these new solutions for an invented problem, to cancel manufacture of bullets that have been a mainstay staple for decades for many of us.... and then suddenly they aren't available any more.

My local source of Hornady bullets, is schittcanning a lot of bullets I've used for decades, to start carrying all these newest lgreatest bullets, that everyone flocks to while buying into the entire concept they are told that Hornady has identified and have came out with a solution to...

No different than Nosler, thinking their bullets deserve drug dealer pricing becasue the democRATS have created shortage, with people freaking out that they are not going to be able to get something, so they hoard everything they can get their hands on.... I'm glad I'm getting near the end of my shooting career in life, so I don't have to deal with all of this horseschidt.

What magazine?

The 700 SA variant(s) have a lot of latitiude; AR Mags, not so much.

You don't want the ogive inside the case mouth, after that its free rental space to the lands, but it has to run in the magazine too.
