I've heard you can renew a bad battery by pouring bolling water in, then draining.
Any ideas?

Alot of the newer chargers have a battery restore mode. It supposedly sends pulsations of charge at the battery, to break up solids and get them back into the solution. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt.

Interesting stuff!
I have switched to Costco Interstate batteries. Very happy so far.

I have a NOCO Genius 5 charger that will repair a battery. It takes a long time, often overnight, but it seems to work.
I've never heard of using boiling water but remember that a battery is largely sulfuric acid, not water. Be careful where you dump it and refill with real battery fluid, not just water.

When you chop onions, the sulfur, and your tears make sulfur acid, that's why your eyes water.
