Got one today. Neat little booger! Didn't NEED it...
Excellent trigger, balances well and points naturally.
I put an old Redfield Tracker 4x on and headed to the range with a box of Hornady American Whitetail 170 grainers.
Once I got on paper, 50 yard groups were right around an inch for 3 and 100 yarders were 1 & 5/8 -1& 7/8ths. Group overlap was excellent. The forend is a touch loose, so I'll be tightening it up.
For a first outing, I'm pleased. Recoil was shocking!
I was expecting. 30-30 level at least. This booger's LIGHT. But it was light. I could shoot this one all day.
I'm looking forward to getting to know this one. I've got a very nice .35 Remington 760, so this'll be staying a .350.
How do y'all like your Scout .350's?

Got one recently, not the takedown. Hope mine shoots well too.

I recently picked up the SS takedown model, partly due to the 2.9lb trigger on that particular example. While it didn’t like the 170gr Hornady load, my brother’s blued rifle did. Mine prefers the 165gr FTX load, shooting a bit over MOA.

Honestly, I was just trying to get it zeroed before deer season. I know 5 guys that picked up these rifles in the last 2 years and all shoot pretty well.

I like a 150yd zero, being roughly 2” high at 100yds and about 5” low at 200.

My Scout was re-chambered to 360 Buckhammer, but I really like the Scout rifle. Nice weight, balance and a great trigger. Nicely accurate as well.

I bought mine to be a low recoiling primitive season gun.

I looked at 3-4 the other day in a local shop and think I’ll get one after hunting season. Every one of them had a loose forearm

Tightening up the forend was simple and quickly done.
I'm curious to see what/any effect it has on point of impact and accuracy. Loose things on a rifle rarely enhance accuracy.

I bought 40 more of the Hornady American Whitetail 170 grain, so it'll be a valid comparison. $26/20 at Cabelas in Hamburg Pa. Looked at some Herters .350 Legend. I was shocked to see a roll crimp that wouldn't be out of place on .357 Magnums.

I bought one of the MLs on the same frame and was pleasantly surprised. Not crazy about the alloy frame, but that’s just old guy prejudice. The trigger is excellent. Saw one of the .444s a year or so ago, and was sorely tempted, but came to my senses, since another deer rifle is the last thing I need.

I like the Henrys pretty well, especially the nice wood most have, but CVA has really come through with shootable stocks and cartridge choices that make sense. The SS is icing on the cake, a lot of icing! There’s always a lot of discussion about truck guns. One of these would be pretty good for that role: SS, inexpensive, simple, presumably pretty rugged, fast to load.

They need to add .223 to the cartridge list.

A faster-twist 223/5.56 offering in the stainless line would be great.

I've had 4 of their single shots and I always snug the screws when new. I'd also advise removing the factory-installed base and degreasing the hardware, as well as the mounting holes. They are known for being heavily oiled from the factory and prone to backing out over time.

You reusing the factory bases or upgrading?

I bought an EGW base for my ML. Much more flexible.

I got mine sighted in today. Was surprised at the snappy recoil. That short little barrel barks too lol

Just shoot it next to the Whelen version, then it will seem downright pleasant....lol

Well it's a 350...not much recoil, just something about the balance. The barrel is short and it likes to snap upward when fired.

i have a non TD version. Its a tack driver.
