Bought a 2024 GMC 3500 DRW single cab with 11’ utility bed for one of my guys. Just hit 6,000 miles so nothing long term on it but it pulls a 10,000 lb Mini Ex or Tracked skid loader as well as my truck, a 2019 Chevy 3500 DRW Duramax Only downside for me is no engine brake on the gassers and I pull through the mountains a lot. My next one will be the 6.6 gasser just so I don’t have to deal with emissions bullscheit. Got 2 4500’s and just bought a new C6500 dump truck I can pull with if I really need more power

Thank, Jackmountain. I'm not trying to take over byd's thread, but I'm hoping to learn more about what people are experiencing with this setup and byd's thread was already here, so I thought I'd jump in and ask.
My 07 Tundra is still running good, but I need to move forward before there's no resale value left, and I think a GM 2500 with the 6.6 will be the replacement.

Hearing great things about that 10 speed, and the 6.6 doesn't have the damned DFM with the stupid lifters like the 5.3 and 6.2.
If I was buying new, this would be my set up.

Haven’t there been a lot of issues with the 10 speed? Some class action lawsuits? Google seems to think so. Or maybe those are all before 2024

I've got a 2022 GMC 2500 with the 6.6 L gas engine with the 10 speed Allison. It's the best truck that I've ever owned. On occasion, I'll pull a trailer with a Bobcat on it and it does fine. No problems with the tranny with 50K miles on it.

Stone, what kind of mileage do you get? Under normal driving conditions, some country and some hwy, I average about 12.5 mpg. I recently took a couple of long distance trips and was getting about 19 mpg on the hwy.

The 3/4 ton with the 6.6 may be the way to go for longevity.. perhaps a small increase in fuel costs but overall a more reliable vehicle...

Not sure of the GM is any better or worse.

Shift points are not great, especially when running 30mph or under. Cant find the right gear. Clyde

I bought one, what a great truck. My first new truck ever. Only 4000 miles so far, so no issues. I can't keep my foot out of the gas pedal, so not very good mileage! ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/rmfvrXRz/100-6193.jpg)

8 speed in a 2016 GMC Yukon sucks donkey balls. Every one i know who's owned the gm/chevy 8 speed around that model year has had it replaced. Or just traded it in.
