Yeah but they don’t thrive in Hill Country so steep and rough man hasn’t even stepped foot on most of it since the Comanche

I’m gonna plead to being a minor member of the second group, I generally wasn’t rude or stupid on purpose.

Oddest creature I ever saw loose was an Arabian orynx running down a highway out by Rocksprings, but of course there’s a bunch of them out there, far more than in Saudi/North Africa anymore.

I think there must have been a bad spot in the cable, but it didn't look like it.
have had that happen by one of two high boars that used to run together on our old place before my parents sold it.

No worries, I was packing a .380 👍🏻

My youngest has a property in south Texas. There is a free range nilgai cow that roams the adjacent high fence property!
BIL says Nilgai are pretty tasty. He used to hunt the barrier islands east of the King Ranch from a boat.
that's where I hunt them.
My youngest brother has killed a couple of them doing same w boat there. Outstanding on the table.

You might wanna switch to 45 Super in an HK for Texas Hill Country.

I raised the height of my gravity feeders to accommodate reds and alleviate hogs…The new height is impressive because of some big azz hogs.

So I was carrying a nine with 147gr plus P plus HP. Had a boar growling at me while filling feeders at 12 yards, double tapped him twice and he didn’t flinch. He trotted off and I heard the death groan a few minutes later but he coulda got me if he wanted. Then there are rutting Stag and elk in that thick ass cedar.

You wanna see bison?
Come to Oklahoma!
About 10 miles northwest of me a guy raises a pasture full of "beefalo". That's a buffalo/cow cross.
They probably raise thousands in OK every year. Lot'sa bison "ranches" up here.

There's an idiot a few miles south of Brentwood Tennessee than has a couple of bison in a pasture right next to Interstate 65- - - - -behind a really flimsy looking board fence. If one of them ever got spooked, it could be right in the middle of the northbound lane in about half a minute. That could cause a really epic chain reaction crash!

They don’t hardly get over 200 pounds on our lease in Burnet county. They will in east Texas, more to eat.

A high fence along SH 37 between Winnsboro and Mt. Vernon has a couple of buffalo.
