Gotta agree with Stick as I much prefer 6CM over 243. I've worn out a couple 243 barrels on my Dakota but finally rebarreled to 22-250 after getting two 6CM Fieldcrafts.

My 6.5 Fieldcraft is stupid accurate, and stupid easy to load for.
If I ever was to be one and done, that rifle would be the one remaining. That be PRC or CM?

CM.
Favors 139 Scenars over lighter bullets.
I'm going to try the 147 ELDM just because Stick says so.

Lots of people don't share your opinion, me being one of them, on the FC at least. But that's just my opinion...
Now, having said that, would I pay $3K for one? No, no I wouldn't.

Seeing as how you can’t build a comparable rifle for under $3K, a Fieldcraft at $2k is still a steal.

Vern, Are you saying the 6CM is easier on throats than a 243W? I’ve had a couple people say the 6CM erodes throats quicker than a 243, which is saying something.

I have a friend who has one, that's what he would like for his. You and I both know he's not selling it for that much. Truth be known, he doesn't want to move it. I have one, but I'm not interested in selling it.
Take care.

Now even those suckers are creeping up pretty good. I agree with your thoughts though. They are becoming more expensive, but used ones pop up for decent prices. Particularly the 8400 WSMs, and 84Ms in something like a 243 too.
