Not exactly a Cape Buffalo, but I did take it with a .405, using the Hornady 300 grain flat point bullet. The deer fell where it was hit.

Shot my deer(doe) last fall with the 405. 130 yards, factory hornady 300 gr ammo. High chest shot, no big bones, she went maybe 20 yards. I've got pics (with holes!) of it once it was skinned/gutted but haven't figured out how to post them yet.
