Just received my upper from Paul Ross, formerly with Compass Lake Eng. Upper looks great, 24" SS bull barrel from Kreiger with CLE chamber and 1:7 twist in 223 Rem. I asked Paul to add a bag rider for stability. Cannot wait to start the breakin tomorrow. Hoping to use the rifle in our varmint competition in May.

So is it a Compass Lake or built by a former employee?

Paul Ross was a principal tech at Compass Lake Engineering and is now running his own business. He spent at least 20years at Compass Lake before starting out on his own. Compass Lake Engineering is not taking any new customer orders for new barrels as far as their communications to me (Feb 2025).

Doesn't really matter. There are other companies that use CLE chambers. They shoot damn well too. Have 3 barrels on hand right now that shoot lights out. AR's that shoot as well as bolt guns, are the catz azz.. Just sayin.
