Gonna list this here first for fellow lefty's. Will leave it here for a week and then move to Rokslide and then to GunBroker.
This is one of the limited run matte stainless laminated stock short actions from years ago. I bought new and have the box. Finally got it out last year and shot it and killed a deer with it. Shot less than 20 times total. Shoots 150 grain blue box Federal very well.
Only blemishes are two very small spots on floor plate. Stock is the greenish, orangish, grayish color. These were made in limited numbers in .308 and .223. This is not a scout rifle.
I'm 63 and retired and I'm gonna move some guns over the next several months. Price is $1,150.00 shipped. Pics or short video available by text to serious buyers. Pm me your cell and I'll get back to you. I'll respond in order of request. I'm not on here all day so please be patient. Thanks, Scott in Missouri.

I forget the exact number of each but when those came out I was able to do an informal serial number search and poll and IIRC they only made about 20 LH .223's and 40 LH .308's, or it was the other way around - 40 and 20.
Ruger had never made a left hand short action stainless steel Hawkeye before, the actions for these were an overrun for some contract for the Canadian government or maybe some Canadian distributor.
Either way, they are very, very scarce. I sold my .308 a while ago but still have the .223.
They made and still make a few short action LH stainless 77's in other models like the FTW Hunter or some such but those were the only straight Model 77 Hawkeyes they ever made in that configuration.
All this from memory, btw, so if anyone has any updated info that would be welcome.
Gunnery, gunnery, gunnery. Hit the target, all else is twaddle!

The actions were leftover from a special run of left hand stainless Gunsite Scout models (as I recall, they were for somewhere in Canada as you said). That gun was ugly as sin, but it did provide for a left hand stainless action, when all the catalog guns at the time were blued. Oddly enough, I just looked on the Ruger website, and they currently catalog the Scout rifle in left hand stainless. Not sure how long that has been offered, because I have no interest in them because of the hideous looks. Though in all honesty, I did purchase a left hand 223 Scout rifle, and tried my best to warm up to it. That was a Nada, and moved it down the road.
I bought one of the LH Hawkeye stainless 308s and had it rebarreled to 260 Rem. I had no interest at the time in a 308. The factory unfired barrel sold very quickly. I don't remember much about how the gun shot or performed in 260, and only had it a year or so before I decided to put the money towards something else, so moved it along. Sold easily in that chambering as well.

Gonna bump this up one more time with a price drop to avoid GunBroker selling fees. Price is now $1,000.00 shipped with factory box. Pics available by text. This is a nice unique left hand Ruger.
