I'd love to try some for subsonic loads, but it's been unobtainium since I got the urge. Been using Unique and AA5744

I'm not sure how much demand there is for it...Cowboy Action is dying or on life support around here. As far as cast bullet loads for the 'old ones', I can't think of a single application where it is listed as 'most accurate powder tested'. You can look at the Cast Boolit archives, pages and years of serious shooters posting their experiences...Trail Boss is never mentioned. IMO it was a powder marketed for dummies that can't seem to develop a reloading technique that eliminates an accidental double charge.
Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

Perhaps not. Expect something even better may come, sooner or later. I am not holding my breath mind you.

Never got the excellent accuracy some report with TB rifle loads, but it’s worked well in handguns, easily accurate enough for my skill level. It’s a PITA in a measure, but dispenses easily from my Chargemaster Lite. Next time around I’m going to try it with Lee dippers, which should work well, in theory anyway. I have about a jug and a half left.

I was wanting to try it in light weight suppressed loads for a 300 BO. Was going to try it with 90 grain XTP pistol bullets. Most of the data I could find used TB.

It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

I never really understood the apparent hostility towards TB. What it was originally designed to do: fill large BP-era cases, eliminating hangfires that can occur with light charges of some powders in those cases, and prevent double charges by virtue if its bulk, it does perfectly. Later on it was found to work well for reduced loads in a whole slew of cartridges, excepting only .50BMG. Mule Deer has published a good bit of data for it, and Mike Venturino was a heavy user in handgun loads, nearly exclusively when he wasn’t shooting BP. Charlie Petty did a piece on it some years back and got really fine results in a variety of CF rifle loads. It is/was a bit expensive; I recall spending about $19 for 9oz, but that 9oz will provide over 900 top-end .38 or .357 loads, and 600+ .44 mag or .45 Colt loads at useful velocities.
The price bothers some like my skinflint buddy gnoahhh, but there’s also been a fair number of negative comments about how it prevents double charges, like real men never have a whoopsie when charging cases with powder. That’s pretty funny to me.
