Quick question: Is the factory hole spacing for receiver sight mounting the same on Marlins and Winchesters? I have a Lyman 66LA designated for Marlin 336 and wondering what else it may be used on. Thanks.

Lyman 66A is for '92 and '94 Winchesters. 66LA is for 336 and JC Higgins 45 according to Stroebel.

The hole spacing for side mounted peeps on Win 94’s and 336 Marlins is the same. However one of the bases has a wider bevel at the top of the base to fit the contour at the top of the action. I forget which but I think it’s the one that suits the Marlin. If you’re careful you could file the bevel down so it fits the other model. Don’t just mill the bevel off as the aperture arm screw uses the top of the bevel as a stop.
