I've never looked at one. If there's no vent, where does the water go?

For the dryer?

Ventless dryers. They are a thing and they are trash. They take hours to actually dry your clothes.

A relative had an apartment that came with a combo washer/dryer. It seemed to work okay, but the capacity was very low. The electric dryer had a vent, but it vented into the room which added a lot of heat and humidity into the room, some of which made it into the rest of the apartment. There was a lint trap at the end of the exhaust hose.

I think they ended up using the community laundry room more than the combo.

I've had pretty good luck with them. I owned a rental house for 30 years and in that time I bought three stacks. Very few service calls.

we have an LG unit in our Miami condo. It does the wash and dry in one unit. Not a 'stackable'. The complete cycle does take longer, and the capacity is not that large, but it does a fine job getting the clothes clean and dry. I think it's going on 6 years now with zero issues.

I bought this GE unit for my mom about 10 years ago. It works great. Never had a problem with it. It does vent the dryer outside. It is a space saver if you are short on room.

I had one for the two years when I lived in Korea. One machine that did it all and did it well. I believe it was made by Samsung whose shipyard was where I worked.

Friend of mine in Seattle had one in his condo. Dryer quit working and he said the closest service center and tech for his brand was in Northern California.

The water doesn't just go away. Ventless dryers supposedly have a condenser that pulls water out of the hot air. I assume it goes down the drain.
