For big game my list is pretty short compared to some of them on this thread;

7. F-150; Oh, wait, that's not a cartridge.

I have the best one. Sure, I've used some rifles and shotguns. But 10 years ago, i was coming back from deer hunting and I hit a doe with my Ram 1500. I called 911 and a state trooper showed up. This trooper didn't want to shoot it, so he gave me his riot shotgun to finish the deer off. He goes, "don't be telling all your buddies that I gave you my gun". I said, "dude, I'm telling everyone I know".

I hit that doe with a truck, then shot it and still got 57 pounds of meat from it.

I've used half ton pickups twice on deer so far in my life. Haven't lost any meat from either of them.

Big game only huh.

Now my list of cartridges ive owned or tried hunting big game with is way larger.

Ive also taken a deer with my truck. It bounced down into the ditch and was severly injured. I grabbed my 22 to go put it out of its missery and a MN dnr officer pull up as i was walking up to it with my 22. He told me to stop and put the gun down. I told him i just hit this deer and was going to put it out of its missory. The dnr took my rifle and had me sit in my truck for 20min while i watched the deer slowely expire over 15 min with crushed ribs and all broken bones. The dnr officer was so sure i was a poacher and was contiually trying to get me to say i was hunting that deer. He ran all the background checks trying to find something to nail me for. He would periodically come back to my truck with new ideas as i shot each one down. First it was poaching, then why do you have a rifle in your truck. Then why do you carry a pistol for. Then you have a protection order on you so you shouldnt have guns. I told him if you actually read that protection order, it is for me to against my ex. As he was letting me go, knowing I had my Iraq vet plates, mentioned i shouldnt be driving around with guns on me or my truck. As i told him the 2nd amendment i faught for says i can, he said the most interesting comment. Well you dont have to deal with people carrying guns like i do at my job. I couldnt believe that comeing from someone who clearly ran my Iraq Vet plates.

He did finally issue me a permit to take it home and when i went down into the ditch to get thecdead deer he was freaking out saying dont touch it. I had to tell him to relax, its just a dead deer. When i drug it up the truck, then did help me swing it up onto the tailgate. A lot of comotion to what was clearly a deer hit with a vehicle and he should have let me put it down after my first comments to him was explaining how i hit the deer.
