I had to work for Dad’s day so we kept extra curriculars to a trip to the ice cream shop after I got off.

But my Great Aunt and Uncle swung by yesterday after church and gifted the boy a new rod and reel they’d found somewhere, pretty decent glass rod spinning outfit. So we spooled it up last night with the promise of a sunrise trip to the bass ponds for a couple hours before it gets hot.

Was a spectacular morning 72deg and a fish almost every cast on weightless stick baits. Dude fishes his wacky rigged for easier hook sets and I’m an old time TX rigger. We boated 31 big mouths and one giant goggle eye in a couple hours. Twas a good trip.

Took the lady to a local lake Sunday afternoon. Mainly was just out for a nice day on the water but decided to troll some flies while we were out there.
Caught a dozen or so 8-12 inch trout and 1 that went 23"

Awesome Kid. I haven't caught a bass or nice pan fish in years.

Been really busy with work lately, but the few times we have been out the fishing has been fairly slow. Rough fishing wasn't great, and the couple days we catfished were pretty much dead.

OK, got almost caught up, on things house/yard/garden, so Doug & I got out Sunday morning.

Hit the water @ 10, home by 12:30 !!

It's been a good season so far.

Started the season off with some decent ones on MN fishing opener

We have a few of them critters in Oklahoma too.

Some work for the sponsors. Fleet Farm held their annual Kids Fishing Day at their stores country wide. They sponsor us so we work it for them. This was the best year by a long shot with over 550 kids coming to our location. It started at 10 A.M ran through the afternoon. The line was out the door, literally, to get in. It was awesome!

Even found a little time to get after the walleyes a little bit. Here are a few decent ones, these are all 22-27.5"

It's the Aussie way, strong hand to do the dexterity work, left for tournament hook sets !

Who knew I was a long lost Australian? I’ve always casted with my right then switched the rod to my left to reel with the right.
I’ve been known to explode a rod on a solid hook set in the past as well. Giv’em the old high stick. 😳
