Back in March, I bought the GPO 10X50 Range binos from Doug at CLNY that were demos, but when I got them I found them to be WAY too heavy and bulky for what I wanted. The optics were OK but couldn’t handle the weight. I called Doug and he said send them back and we exchanged them for the GPO 10X40 Range Binoculars plus some $$. (Great service from CameralandNY by the way) I couldn’t be more happy with the 10X40s. They are super light, extremely clear and seem to range extremely well. Easy to use too.
Took them on a coyote hunt in Deep South Texas with a buddy of mine who had just purchased some Swaro 12X50 ELs that he brought along on the hunt. There wasn’t any real noticable difference optic wise in broad daylight to either one of us although I’m sure at the twilight hours there would be. Also took them on a prairie dog shoot in Kansas last month and had no problems ranging p-dogs although the dog town was only approx. 400 yards across. So far I have ranged out to roughly 2600 yards on trees in broad daylight which is more than enough for my needs. I have been quite impressed with them so far.

I think it’s a combination of the three.
One incident was four of us were glassing a herd as they emerged from thick cover at about 350 yards. With about 30 min of shooting light and a low bright sun the brown of the deer usually pop, but with the the Kilo I was never the first to call out the nice bucks as they crept out. The deer brown looked more muted than what I was accustomed to. I’m sure other factors included familiarity with the area, age of eyes and eye fatigue. But for me it was a call out that great ranging is only half the equation for my use.
To be fair I also had an experience from the other side of the coin. In similar conditions with my newer hunter friend and his Geovids. At 900-1200 yards I was picking up deer coming into the open and had to walk him over to them. Thank you, Chris. Makes a lot of sense.

Good laser, mediocre glass. I went back to handheld rangefinder and Swaros.

Good laser, mediocre glass. I went back to handheld rangefinder and Swaros. Based on this thread, I'm holding off on a purchase for now. A few years back, I had a pair of Leica 7x42s that I loved. Sold them to fund a divorce and replaced them with a pair of Leica 8x32s that don't seem nearly as good. I looked through a pair of SIG binos on a hunt a couple of years back and it was like looking through a screen door compared to my 8x32s. I Might just go back to 7x42 or 8x42 and wait. Okie John
If Montana had a standing army, a 270 Win with Federal Blue Box 130's would be the standard issue.

I haven’t looked through every RF bino by any stretch, but with the exception of an early Geovid, every RF bino I’ve looked through has some kind of weird blue or green hue under some light conditions.

I had my Vortex Fury AB, a friend's GPO Rangeguide 10x50, and my Geovid 3200.com mule deer hunting a couple of years ago. Bottom line is the Geovid's I had (this was the 3rd one) all sucked and didn't come close to meeting spec (700 max range unless it was freezing, then max was 200). I personally like the AB solutions given by the Fury, and the glass is very sharp, and bright enough to get me well past legal shooting. The RF is superb as well, easily ranging out to 4000, overall it's been a great unit. The GPO wouldn't range that far but did 2600 easily. If a guy doesn't want/need ballistic info, the GPO is the best combo of RF/optics on the planet, IMO. It is extremely well built as well. Vortex has by far the best electronics warranty and CS of all the main players.

My Geovid HD-R 2200 and Geovid 3200.com both easily range beyond their rating on trees if the lighting is decent.

Yeah, they pretty much have to in order to see the LED readouts clearly. Ah, well at least they have a legit reason then. Ad I've looked through GPO, Vortex, and Sig. The Vortex warranty kind've puts them out front from my perspective.

This I can't speak for "longevity", but they range better than anything I have ever owned.
They will get a range, on a 10" steel target, at 1000 yards effortlessly.

Back to OP question, I bought a 3000BDX 10 x 42 Sig from Camerland in 2022 I think. Used it infrequently since then. Three weeks ago it died on a prairie dog shoot in Eastern MT. Sent it to Sig for diagnosis on their dime. Just got a call that they were going to replace it with a Kilo 6 HD 10 x 42 at no cost to me.
From my experience it worked well at ranging but optical quality was not as good as other brands I have used. Their customer service was very good however. Longevity was not good however since mine was not used hard at all but failed.
