OK, so my 8x32's showed up earlier this morning, so I'll first offer this disclaimer.....I'm not optical engineer, expert, or have near the experience many here like. I also have 63.5 yr old eyeballs, recently started using corrective glasses for the first time in my life, but set these up without using glasses because I don't plan on using them when I hunt or birdwatch.

First rattle out of the box, things that I immediately noticed.....super sharp central view and very sharp to the edges. I didn't notice much sharpness fall off at all. FOV is obviously very wide which is real nice, focus is not fast or slow necessarily, somewhere between the super fast Conquest and semi slow SLC HD. About perfect IMO, and it's CCW to infinity. Colors really explode/pop when brought into sharp focus, eyecups are great and stay put at every setting, focus is very smooth, binos feel fantastic in your hands, ergos are exceptional. Seem very well built, everything that's designed to move does so smoothly and easily. I'd put color balance in the neutral category, and they seem very bright for a 32mm glass.

I've got my 8x42 SLC here as well, and the view is easily on par with it. Optically the UHD is superior to my 10x42 Razor HD, Meostar HD, and Gold Ring HD. Focus mechanism is better in the UHD, and colors pop more and are more vibrant. This conclusion is based on the fact that the sun came out for a few minutes, while my original thoughts were done with overcast skies. I should edit to add that I think I can perceive an image drop off at about 90% of the uber-wide FOV which is a non issue for me. I'm not prone to CA and I can see none at all so far.

I'll attempt to answer any questions if I'm capable.

I'm still screwing around- the Razor UHD glass continues to impress me but dang if I am not completely underwhelmed with the "Vortex Pro Binocular Adaptor"...

Good stuff. I kind of soured on Vortex years ago, might have to give them another look.

Took a quick Look through the 18’s and seemed pretty nice.

JGR,

Does it have a 1/4-20 tripod exit? I thought it did.

The diopter locks or just friction?

I really like the full size UHD, except the bulk and weight. And the build quality but this 32mm seems like a definite step up in build.

4th, it is the standard thread tripod mount, and the diopter is a slide up to adjust and snap back down to lock it. It is a very smooth operation. I had a Razor HD 10x42 that I gave to my nephew, and the build quality was very good, but the UHD is a definite step up.

I have the 10x50 UHD and 8x32 UHD. I do not think there is a difference in build quality. Both are very nice binos. 8x32 has a wider apparent FOV, so it is even more user friendly. I just spent a few days using it on a family vacation all over Wyoming and I am quite impressed with it. Easily one of the nicest 8x32 binos I have seen in a while.

Good to hear that from you. I'm still quite impressed with my 8x32 as well.

Where are the UHD's made?

Compared to the kowa genesis 8x33?

It is a little better than the Genesis, but also more expensive. I do not know which one is better for the money, to be honest.

They weigh about the same and overall resolution and contrast are pretty close, but UHD has wider FOV and larger sweetspot.
