Guys:

I will be on the Kenai Peninsula in early-mid August and planning to do some fishing on the Kasilof.

Despite having a college degree, I find reading through the fishing regs a bit challenging at times and was hoping you all could educate me a little bit.

I have seen the EO closing the Kasilof to Kings until July 31st, as well as the restriction to single hook artificial lure only.

Does this imply that the river is open to Kings starting 8/1? That wasn't part wasn't clear to me, or if there was an overarching regulation that prohibited Kings starting 8/1.

Thanks for any guidance and wisdom...BB

Nope.

Closed to KS fishing.

And you aren’t wrong about the regs.

We take a lawyer along with us to help decipher the regulations.

And it still doesn't always work.

Thanks, guys!

At least I don’t feel so ridiculous posing the question.

We weren’t targeting the Kings, but wanted to be clear as to the regs to avoid any trouble.

With any luck we hope to catch the tail end of the Reds and the beginning of the Coho.

All Alaskan children receive a paralegal education by 8th grade so they know about their sexual transformation rights, then sometimes learn how to count to 22 by high school graduation.

Don't forget the surveyor to figure out exactly where you are and the accountant to figure out if you can afford the fine........

When I landed in Alaska in 1968, the game regulation book was 11 (maybe 13) pages long for the ENTIRE STATE!. . I no longer remember if that was a single side count or double side count, but whatever....

The fishing regs might have been - "go fishing!" No one paid much attention to them anyway, except to buy a license. Sometimes.

Oh, for the good old days!
