I looked at 6 or 7 a couple of weeks ago. All were utility knives with black finished blades and wood un polished handles. They were comfortable in the hand and I think they would be a useful hunting/camping knife. The workmanship was good and consistent from knife to knife. The edges were left thick and in my opinion will take some work to get them thin enough to the kind of work I would expect to do with it.

I did buy one just (and took the time to thin the edge) because I have met him several times and wanted one of his knives for my accumulation. I understand he has an operation now with makers building the knives he designs, but I still like his knives.

I have one of his Belt knives and it is my go to carry knife when in the woods. His sheath system is the best I have ever used, and when worn horizontal, the knife goes unnoticed on my belt. I have used the knife for basic camp chores, fire making, and processing game.

I would buy another one of his knives without a second thought.

I have 3 of his old school Master Smith knives and 2 of his new "Winkler Knives", an SD2 and a Huntsman. Geno Denning (if you know who that is) turned me on to Winkler and I'm forever grateful..
