I have a colt light rifle that was sent to Melvin for the stock and trigger upgrade. Didn’t have barrel replaced because it shot great as it was. Caliber is 7 mm rem mag and I was thinking about putting it up for sale since I haven’t used it since I got it back. What would it be worth in today’s market?

Seems like just this weekend someone posted that it costs right at or under ? 2 grand to buy a CLR today and have the current outfit do a conversion.

i think 2 grand includes a douglas barrel upgrade also which he didnt get
I would say 1200-1500 the market is really bad right now from what i am seeing

Correct; stainless barrel conversion is just under 2k (plus the donor).

Yeah seems people are not spending money like they were including myself. Or what I have isn’t in demand. I know I paid 1k for the work I had done to this rifle. If I couldn’t get 1500 for it I will just let it take up room in the safe.

$1500 is probably current market but I agree it’s worth more than that. If it wasn’t 7 mag I’d be interested. I’m in Shelby county myself. Nice to know another guy around here is fan of Melvin’s work.
