It had been a number of years since I visited it. It seemed pricey back in the day. Had a big surprise finding out I could not begin to see it all in four hours! An hour used to be plenty.
Too much interactive electronic crap for my taste, but there were a lot of impressive new things. The Alaskana Native section was particularly neat because of the body of artifacts, but damn it! turn a few more lights on! Very good series of artifacts displayed by "tribe" would take a day just to actually look at everything.
A really well-done display of Bradford Washburn aerial photography included lots of photos of ice under pressure and flowing. Examples of his cameras, the little fact his wife was the first woman to summit McKinley, at a time when it was an entirely different game and much more of a challenge.
The idea of sending visitors there was never considered previously, but now it will become a suggestion for someone with a little time to kill in bad weather.
Mark Begich, Joaquin Jackson, and Heller resistance... Three huge reasons to worry about the NRA.

It was one of the high points when we visited Anchorage. Really enjoyed the native exhibits.
