Not the point really. The ones that are worth it will get more than minimum anyway.

I don’t know if any kid/adult that will work for minimum wage anymore.

Like I said I voted against it but you can’t even get a babysitter anymore for even 2x minimum wage.

Minimum wage here is 10.55. The lowest actual wage anywhere is over 15 an hour. I would not expect there to be anything under 20 an hour in Alaska.

Is Begich going to lose to rank choice?

Good chance, as there are a lot of early/absentee and village votes to be counted yet, probably mostly for Peltola. But as of now, he only needs .5% to make it 50% (plus 20 votes?), to avoid a stinky finger manipulative.

I voted yes on one. As per above, the min wage clause doesn't really apply mostly, and I approve of sick leave when needed (it can be abused).

When I retired from KPB employment, I had $26K of sick leave built up on the books, of which I got comped half . After 4 years with AKAir in Kotzebue, I had used none of their fairly generous sick leave. None of it was comped when I left. A co-worker took every hour as soon as she could, but she was a worthless bitch anyway. Nobody missed her and she was eventually let go. But she "worked" the heck out of the system for almost 2 years.

Several of my co-workers used it to go hunting, or when hung-over.

There was a teacher here that lost his job, and his certificate, being stupid... He asked his Principal for PL to fish the commercial halibut opening and was refused. Called in sick that day. Principal called his boat.... smile

He was a lousy teacher anyway, and Paul was looking for an excuse...

We are now entering the period where the most worthless generation in all of humanoid history is going to be the dominate generation in the "workforce".

Alaska voting results by house district: elections.alaska.gov/election-results/

I'm pleased that my district supported DJT for president by over a 2:1 margin. Juneau on the other hand was roughly 70% Harris and 30% Trump.

Repeal of the ranked-choice voting is still leading, but absentee/mail-ins are still being counted. Looks close.

Looking at the judge retention numbers for my district, EVERY one of them had more no votes, so how do they always seem to stay in position? What's the point of voting if they don't get tossed out on their asses?
