So Meopta decided to take their repairs in house which means they do not have a middle man in the states now. I sent back an older scope that a seal had failed. I did not have the receipt from ~20 years ago so I had to pay for the repair. I sent it in on September 1st to Erik with Global Photonics in Florida. Erik sent it back to Meopta in Czech Republic for me. Meopta then contacted me and said that they are now handling the process and sent me an estimate. All was well except that I had to WIRE them the money. They do not accept credit cards or any other digital payments. After much research I ended up using XE to wire the money. I think it cost me $6. I refused to pay the bank $60 as I already have way too much money in this scope. They sent me a Fedex tracking number this morning so hopefully I will get it back soon. They were very responsive with exception to the time difference. Hope this helps someone out. LMK if I can provide any guidance.

Thanks for the info.

Hopefully this is a temporary arrangement until the new owner implements a better process.

If you communicate with them again, please ask if there are plans to change the customer return handling. I'd be interested in hearing what you find out.

Shipping their products to Czech for service is the biggest reason I won't buy any more Meopta stuff. I think it was a bad move personally.

I've yet to see one of any flavor, that tracks, repeats or holds zero. Have sent several back,to no avail. Hint.

Just sayin'.............

Thanks for the info on the us cs center.

I do like the Meostar series. Second hand they are hard to beat for the price….I do hope they simplify the customer service deal. Zeiss and swaro are way ahead in my experience.

Why did they shut it down in the first place?

I really like my Meopta scopes but I am not sure what’s going on with them since their merger/ buy out a year ago. They didn’t really have much of a set up at shot show ( which is a shame ,because of the cost to value of their scopes)and for guys like me that buy directly from them because of my discount ( or I would buy from Doug as you should) Meopta hasn’t had any stock on their website.

Meopta apparently is having a restart soon since their retail website for sales is down.

Didn’t Meopta make Conquest scopes?

I bought several when they were closing them out for $285 or so. One of my best scope deals. I sent some back for elevation turrets. They seems to track pretty well, although my “break in” protocol isn’t that extreme….

To me, Conquest glass beats VX-3 glass. I’ve never sent a Conquest back for other than elevation turret upgrade. O

Quick update: my scope made it back to me in 6 days which was very impressive. Seems to be great. I hope others can get help for the interim during their transition.

Good to know. There are way too many competitors with CS located in the US that will cover their products for me to bother with Meopta.
