Skipper, -- just like guns, I pay no attention to brand names, just what works for me regardless of price. Many won't shoot a Mossberg shotgun, I have several, I use Trilene, Stren, AND Wally World special. I try to use low capacity reels and change line often, especially in the hot summer. The best line I ever used was Perlene, discontinued several years ago. I could use that line all summer, high abraision resistant, low strech, and strong as heck with most knots. I bought out the whole stock at the last store I found it and only have a couple of spools of 25# which I don't fish, too heavy. With the 15# I can cast a hook and grub about 40-45' with 6'graphite and Ambassador 4500 or newer reels. That cheap large spool of WM line is pretty good if you change before it starts to fatigue. WE have many stumps and timber in Texas lakes, night fishing can be a challenge, except around boat docks and lit areas. A full moon helps and black light and moon glow are just so so for my old eyes. -- no
