Can someone tell me the year? Thanks!

Rather than serial number, what are the letter codes stamped on the barrel, just in front of the recoil lug?

The barrel codes don't appear to indicate the year on this safari model,I have heard this from others to on some rem 700's, There is a "E" and then A "X"

I'm not sure, but it's way too old for you. You'd better sell it to me as soon as possible.

I don't think letter codes work with custom shop rifles.. call the custom shop & they will tell you when it was shipped.
