I've seen other pics - they were "engaging" steel targets with AR's and bolt rifles at a range of 6 to 7 yards.
Not 67 - 6 yards to 7 yards.

I have been hit in the chest at an IDPA match. No penetration as it was pretty well spent from a steel target several lanes over. Did sting however. RZ.

The reporter taking some spall saved them from a much larger issue if they got to the tannerite at that range.
