Good grief, 50 miles? With all the bitchin about the USPS lately it would’ve been cheaper and much quicker to split the difference and drive. F that noise. I'd rather be shot at than drive anywhere near that part of the area. Rough place you live in.

You all have forgotten who trump put in charge of the USPS... you want someone to blame for all the post offices' problems, blame him, Louis Dejoy. Or better yet, Google the SOB and read up on his one-man effort to destroy the Post Office. This is what you pick for President is all about. Putting the lamest SOB"s in every office he can get his pea brain to think of, and the only requirement is he be a devoted idiot that will bow to trump when ever asked.

Note: USPS will scan a package as delivered and it is still sitting at the post office. They do this to my shop all the time. USPS tracking is not accurate. They do that with our packages on a Saturday delivery by their truck to the post office, we are closed for the weekend. But, tracking indicates a Saturday delivery. Which is not true at all. The packages are still sitting at the post office.

Mail delivery just changed here so all mail has to go through Portland (250 miles away) even if going next door.
Remembering democrats are in control, my opinion is that they are setting up centralized hubs to "manage" conservative areas ballots.

So placed Louis Dejoy into the position of Postmaster General for the exact reason you are now accusing the Democrats of but aren't because Dejoy can't be fired with the GOP also being in charge of the Postal Services' Board of Govenor's. I live in a mostly white small town. The ladies who ran our post office all retired about 3 years ago. The office is now run by surly, rude blacks from the surrounding areas and the service has taken a predictable downturn. It is an ordeal to conduct even the simplest transaction there now.

You DUMB MOF, right of the bat, Dejoy started destroying and removing high speed sorting machines. Reassigning top people in the Post office, putting a complete stop to any over time. Putting nearly a complete stop to any mail going by air. Requiring Priority Mail to go by TRUCK. Putting a stop to trucks waiting for late deliveries of mail to proceed to deliver between hubs requiring those late deliveries to wait at local hubs until the next transfer which might be days. 2-day priority mail now takes anywhere between 6 days to weeks, and that is if it doesn't just get lost in an unbelievable loop. Not to mention continually raising prices. Yes that 4 years has been pure hell for the Post Office because of Dejoy, but the GOP has been in charge of the USPS' Board of Govenor's for much longer. You stupid [bleep] don't know what you are voting for.

I buy a LOT from ebay. The vast majority is shipped USPS. Judging by my experience I can't image how the USPS still exists and it explains exactly why they lose money by the truckload and are always asking to be subsidized.
The local carriers are NOT the issue, the issue is what's being done in the hubs and distribution centers. The people writing those protocols and running those facilities are sorry as fu cking sh it.
They want to blame their shortcomings on the sheer volume of material they handle every day. Ok, that's a valid argument until you understand they've had 250 years to figure out how to do this. Get this box from here to there in one piece and on time. One damn job to do and it's not being done for free.
Freaking Benjamin Franklin was the very first Postmaster General, 250 year ago....... As I understand it its not subsidized. They are not for profit basically arm of the government. Not created to make a profit. Run by gov.. There is a huge part of the problem. They are just a gravy money train as such. So it can't really be subsidized if its supported by... IMHO. Regardless of the above they still get it done as good as others and for less cost basically. And WAY better than my experiences with fed ex. When they go to congress and get more money to make up for lost revenue that's being subsidized, taxpayer money subsidized. FedEx was founded in 1971, because the USPS sucked. USPS was founded fully 200 years before that, in 1771......
