Left to me by a long gone old reloader. Thought some might enjoy seeing what reloading was like before our modern tools arrived. Have no idea what time frame it is from. The tool pushes out the old primer & presses in a new primer. The decapping pin you see protruding from shot shell flash hole, is removed, flipped over to a flat side for pushing the new primer in. Very simple , but effective. [Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

Nice! I love these old tools. Especially the old all in one plier like tools, that even have a cavity that cast the bullet.

Are the vintage roll crimpers able to crimp a 2 1/2" hull?

Old roll crimper and new tools are often on ebay. You can get new ones to fit an electric drill from Precision Reloading and Ballistic Products. Iuse both, but the newer ones generally, for me, do a nicer job on plastic hulls. The old ones do a nice job on paper.

Yes . They are designed for the shorter than 2 3/4" shells that have been standard since after WWII.
