Unfortunately, the LaRue's always seem to be on back-order. I'd call them and get a status update before you "pull the trigger" on one.
Good triggers, though.

I’ve tried several over the years from the RRA NM and Jewel’s to the higher Geisseles and have standardized with the G2S. That’s Geissele’s cheapest trigger and can be had for $100 or less when on sale.
I’ve got a half a dozen or so here now and the pull weight and feel is identical between them all.

If you’re not in a big hurry, there will probably be Black Friday sales in 3 weeks or so. It might save you a few dollars. THIS. I picked up a couple Rise Armament SSTs on or around Black Friday a several years ago for $80/each.

Good triggers, though. One reason I order 2/3 every fall and try to keep ahead of the game so to speak. Really liking the flat triggers now too. I'm about a zero La Rue fan but the triggers seem decent and are priced right.

Whatever ya go with, you'll never get the same lock time as a bolt action.
Your form and follow through will have to make up for the difference.

I have a JP in my old Big Pin Colt AR. I have a Jewel in one of my Range AR's. Both are very good triggers installed several years ago. My Tactical Solutions 22 LR AR has a stock AR trigger in it that was very exceptional. That is why it has not been changed out, plus the 22 LR gets very dirty. A stock trigger is easy to hose out on a 22 LR. All of my newer Triggers are Stern Defense Cassettes, factory set up with the light spring. I like the Stern Defense Triggers well enough that I just bought a spare for my next build. They are nothing super fancy, just a nice trigger that will set light enough to shoot groups with.
Bob R Bought a Stern Defense 2 stage on a lark. Its been great in a 9mm PCC for at least 1k rds. I figure if it will hold up in that trigger killer it would last just fine in a 556. Did leave the heavier spring in it. I just prefer 2 stage triggers. A hold over from my service rifle days I guess.

Your form and follow through will have to make up for the difference. And yet the AR will shoot .25 moa groups with ones just a bit bigger, around .5 moa being not uncommon at all. So one has to question how much exactly lock time is a real issue for most.

You will get MOA accuracy with your AR, unless it has a bad barrel, which I doubt it will have. The only way you will know is by shooting it. Use a bipod and good rear bag. Shooting an AR platform does take a little adjustment/getting used to, if you've only shot bolt actions. All of mine have proven to shoot sub moa for 10 shots (except for my damn Noveske!!!), but a lot of that has to do with the barrel you use. If you want better precision, buy a better barrel. They are easy to change out.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

The Larue MBT-2s is my favorite reasonably priced 2 stage. I've recently been trying a TriggerTech Duty 2 stage in my favorite rifle and just switched it back to an MBT tonight.

Good trigger, that I gave away to 79s here. It does nothing any better than the RRA 2 stage varmint match, and is laughably higher priced right now. Hint.

I picked up two, single stage triggers for my ARs and have been very pleased. Red Hawk had a sale on Trigger Tech and Eurooptic had a USA edition Timney. I would buy both again and can’t tell a difference between the two. Both are about 3 pounds and definitely helped my shooting with those guns versus the stock triggers.

I have many fine rifles with very nice sub 2 lb. target triggers. The Geissele SSA-E is my preference. It's as nice of a 2 lb. break on the second stage as any target trigger. The first stage is so smooth and light it is in no way a hindrance to precision at speed. IMHO there is just no reason not to get the extra safety of a 2-stage trigger in the SSA-E.

LaRue MBT for around $100 Second this, LaRue is hard to beat, especially at the price. It is a 2 stage trigger, which I now personally prefer.

While it a great trigger, it's way to fu cking light for my needs. YMMV. RRA 2 stage varmint match for the win. It is now less expensive than even the Larue MBT2S, which we knew would not stay at $80, forever. Thanks Larue! rost used to brag this trigger up and down, but doesn't have enough balls to agree.
