I know there are a number of us here on the 'fire that reside in northern Virginia. I need a few things done that I don't want to send off through the mail, such as a Remington 700 trigger job and re-mounting a canted Marlin 39a front sight. I only know of the jackass in Lorton (IYKYK), and would prefer to use someone else. Thanks for any other suggestions.

I lived in NOVA off and on for the last 20 years and never found any smith that I would trust again. I have tried a couple and have been disappointed, burned and/or enraged every time. There is that saying… quality, fast or cheap. You might get two.

Put it in a box and send it to a smith you trust.

Northern Virginia Gunworks in Fairfax has done excellent work for me in the past. Might take a little while tho.

i had Jack Keister build me a 7mm-08 ....it is a hammer for sure and they installed one of their stocks and the fitment was outstanding...

I gave them a simple job 9 months ago and was lied to every time I called about it...a simple new pad install with paint work and bead blast the barrel...I picked it up recently after being told it would be two weeks for 6 months....they never touched it so be careful they are a 50/50 deal

I live just over the line in Jefferson County, WV and am at a loss for anyone that can deliver reliably in a reasonable time frame. Gene knows that we have an excellent one nearby, but getting anything done takes more time than I may have left on Earth. I too am loath to mail an important one off, so if it comes to it I’ll probably find one within several hours’ driving distance.
