Me too. I vaguely think it’s something about recoil pads……

I like my flip-flops the best, but if weight is not an issue the Decelerators work very well and seem to last the longest.

I had goo issues on the LimbSavers until I read a rumor that bore cleaner on fingertips while handling Limbsavers was the cause. So, I started paying careful attention and noticed I was being careless. I can't say for certain, but can say I stopped touching recoil pads when cleaning rifles and the problem seems to have stopped for me.

I believe they did fix the original Limbsavers a while ago. Looks like they have since come out with a newer pad as well. I had one of the original gooey ones. Damn thing glued itself to the carpet fibers and I ended up looking like I had Tina Turner in a headlock.

Worst pad ever was the standard 'Magnum" pad included on HS Precisions synthetic stocks. I spoke to their guys on the phone who laughed it is called the magnum pad because it makes every rifle feel like a magnum.

I go Pachmyer every time now.

For those who haven't tried a scope on their rifle, I tried this scope and can see a lot better. Give it a try. By the way, Decelerators are great, Limbsavers are crap. Flip flops are most cost effective ( use pieces of foam flooring). GD

I shot a similar rifle chambered in .600 Overkill. It was a memorable experience.

Might also add that I'm something of a spelling Nazi:

It's Pachmayr, as can be seen if you look at the rear surface of the pad....

I’m also a big fan of the Pachmayr Decelerator. Another I like and use a lot are Kickeez pads, especially on shotguns that get shot a lot.

I also recommend wearing boots while hunting, as I slip less than I do in dress shoes.

I prefer the checkered steel one's like on my 300H&H . With a checkered steel one you know for sure the gun went off.
Also primers in your reloads help immensely with accuracy with almost every bullet brand.

I guess recoil pads are sold in the same part of the store muzzle brakes are, the feminine hygiene section lol

I heard Tim Walz uses double sided tape and tampons on his shotguns and stay free mini pads for light kickers.

I'm a fan of the PachMayr Decelerator recoil pads. Used them for decades on all my rifles.
