....... Chair of New National Energy Council President Trump has announced the nomination of North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum to head the Department of the Interior and also Chairman of a newly formed cabinet-level National Energy Council (energy Czar). Very interesting move, not in the appointment of Burgum, but in the duality of a method to tear apart the Dept of Interior Silo. As the American people are starting to become aware of a return to civics, the President of the United States has absolute power within the Executive branch and absolute immunity for everything he defines as an official act of his office. By appointing Burgum as the Interior Secretary and simultaneously the appointed energy-sector representative of the president, carrying the full weight and authority therein, there is no way for the institutional bureaucracy of the climate change officials inside the agency to block any changes decreed by President Trump within the mandate of the Energy Czar. Secretary Burgum will sit at the top of the Dept of Interior organization, AND Czar Burgum will sit inside every agency, office, and subsidiary department that has anything to do with “American Energy” production/regulation.A very strong power move. I like it. Burgum would lead a new National Energy Council comprising all agencies and departments involved in the production, regulation and transportation of “ALL forms of American Energy.” … “This Council will oversee the path to U.S. ENERGY DOMINANCE by cutting red tape, enhancing private sector investments across all sectors of the Economy, and by focusing on INNOVATION over longstanding, but totally unnecessary, regulation.” Hat Tip: Sundance and More HereDrill Baby, Drill

I couldn't figure Doug Burgum's angle in all this. Now we know.

For me, the jury is still out on that guy.
When I moved back to ND he was the governor. From what I’ve seen and heard he cut the spending some, streamlined.
Time will tell

If this Land Sale stuff to the ChiComs has merit, gonna cause a Big Flap in confirmation hearings. Ya, probably by the same guys who are on the ChiCom payroll, but that's another story.
Any of you ND guys know anything about this?

Turmp has not made a nomination for Department of Energy (Secretary of Energy).
I don't know how that position's authority relates to the Chair of New National Energy Council.
But, since President Trump arrived on the scene, we have graduated from taking Civics 101 to Civics 301 classes I guess.
We'll see who he nominates to DoE, which will likely cement the "balls out on drilling" strategy.

The land was a private sale to the Chinks. It was near GF airbase. I never heard our governor had anything to do with it. Somebody found out who bought it and started a ruckus. I never heard how it turned out and who was involved. Edk

A big correction would be to end .gov subsidies for electric vehicles.
That's like someone wanting a Rolls Royce on a Ford budget, so .gov picks up the difference. BS all the way!

Well no matter what...could Burgum be any worse than IntSec Deb Haalund?...who could have made a real difference to this country, to her native people (on her moms side anyway)...and kissed it all off to be another racist political hack puppet bouncing on the strings of the Donkey party puppeteers. She is a disgrace to her people, her father (Marine Major, silver star, Vietnam) and a piss poor American. But I have no strong opinion on the subject.
Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

I foresee more Federal land being opened up to hunting/fishing I also foresee the permanent destruction of vast areas of wilderness in Alaska, which will decimate the game .

Destroy the Alaska wilderness like the Pipeline did? I heard all that as a young man in Fairbanks before the last pipeline started in the mid 1970s. Still waiting. Edk

I was warned, but I am here anyway.
