I purchased a CZ550 way back in 2003 for $450.00 new! This is the square bridge CZ Mauser action. I've been able to cover three shot groups with a dime. A good number of the groups had the three shots touching. This shooting was with 120gr Nosler ballistic tips and 130gr bullets and can't remember the name of the bullets. I do remember the 120gr load was at 2900 fps plus. The 130gr load was well over 2800 fps. I can only wonder where the rifle is now as my son moved to England with our U.S. Navy. The rifle was given to him because of the nice accuracy. He may have stored the rifle at his mother's home.

Filled my NoDak deer tag on Friday with one of those '86 vintage Model 70 Fwt's with the boar tit irons.
I really need to use that rifle more ...

A man I'd known for years used a 6.5X55 Sako something-something as his one and only for everything It apparently worked great for him because whatever he pointed it at at was rendered with the first one as it should be

I'm very fond of my Mauser M12 in 6.5x55. It shoots just about any bullet (except the Speer 140 HC) into groups under an inch straight from the box.
I never had no edukation. Not never.

Kimber put out sporterized Swedes at some point too… That would have been 1995; the year I got mine from them. Also have a large advertisement for them that Kimber placed in "Shotgun News" that I cut out and framed. It states; "NEW FOR 1995", and "It may look like a Mauser but it's got KIMBER written all over it". Still have it and I like it a lot, my only complaint was the cheap, injection molded, Ramline plastic stock that Kimber used. But it's in a nice Bell & Carlson stock with an aluminum bedding block and has a Dayton - Traister trigger now and all is well.

I'm thinking mine is pretty old. Been told early 70's build. Ed, I didn't look closely the first time I saw your photo, now realizing that's a Win 70, a true work of art!

I have a Dakota M10 6.5X55 that I purchased off the Fire a year or so ago. I believed it was unfired when I got it. According to Dakota (Park West) it dates to around 2000.

M70 pf fwt with fiddleback grain through the stock. Nice rifle shoots well with 120 Speers and 129 Hornady sp's couple of deer and a coyote. Should get it out again but I keep fooking around with some 6.5c's and a 260.maybe I don't remember getting hit on the head or something. Most likely just been in to close of proximity to democrats. Actually, the sleeper on that rack is the Dutch 6.5x53 carbine. Wonderful little rifles - beautifully made and accurate. They make up into nifty sporters in the tradition of early 20th century British custom gunmakers such as Rigby who used the barreled actions to build light rifles for the African trade and Scottish stalking. I've owned a bunch of 6.5x55's in my life - several Swede M94 carbines, M38 short rifles, M96 rifles (including a M41 sniper with scope), and a 1986 M70 from the Scandanavian contract overrun. I still kick myself 35 years later for letting that one out of sight. Current 6.5x55 that I campaign is a Ruger 1A which goes a long way toward cancelling the remorse over the M70.

I got into 6.5x55 back in 2003 when I picked up a M96 to shoot in the "vintage military" rifle shoots at the local gun club. Next thing you know I had two M96's and one M38 that I shot in conjunction with my 1903A3. I really wanted to try a 6.5x55 sporter after that and purchased a Tikka T3 with a walnut stock in 2004 and added a Ruger African when they came out.
